Some Info about ERICA:

Where and when were you born? I was born July 4,1978 in Lake Forest Illinois

What is your profession? I am an Admissions Representative for a career focused college in Chicago. I am also attending there as a full-time student getting my Bach. of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice.

Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training? I was in Volleyball in High school and I also jumped horses for 6 years. I got into bodybuilding many years ago but never knew how to really get involved until I met someone that has been bodybuilding for years and was kind enough to show me the way.

Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? Yes, it was a goal set to compete in bodybuilding right from the start.

Can you give me your competition history? I competed in my first bodybuilding competition in May 2007 as a middle weight competitor. I placed 2nd in my class which allowed me to move to the National level.

Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you? I have only competed in one which was the May 2007 competition and that was the only meaning.

Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.) When I am training I would train twice a day 2 times a week and the rest I would train once a day 6-7 days a week. I would also do cardio all those days as well from 1 hour to an hour ˝. I would weight train everyday that I was in the gym but of course training one body part a day.

What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much? I LOVE training arms. I could train arms everyday if it was allowed. I hate LEGS UHG, legs are the worst because those I train hard as well and I hate being so sore and not able to walk for a couple of days.

Which body part is your best in your opinion? I would have to say two body parts I have to say are my best. 1. Shoulders 2. My Quads for sure.

If you don’t mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)? Best lifts would be with doing legs on the leg press. I pressed almost 500lbs and I blew a lot of people away. Arms are 11 inches (they are growing) and legs 23 inches. During competition I am 36-24-36

What do you enjoy about training for competition....what do you enjoy about the 'off season'? I enjoy the way the body changes and the people coming up to me asking questions about how to do this and how to do that. I like off season because for 1 you don’t have to be so strict on your diet but you get to gain more mass to build later on into good quality muscles when prepping for a show.

Please describe a typical day in the life of Erica A. Smith.
A typical day in my life would be working (have to pay bills some how LOL), Mainly talking on the phones with prospect students who inquire information about the college and setting appointments to meet them face to face, going to the gym on lunch breaks and coming home doing some homework and spending time with my husband.

Please tell me about what you do when you don’t work out (hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.) When not working out I love to just relax at home and watch movies. I am a HUGE movie buff and I can watch movies over and over again. I love drawing as I was born with the gift of art so if I have the time I try and use my talent in many different ways.

What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle? I love walking around feeling great and confident about myself and who I have become. I love being able to help people with questions about diet and training. I just love being a female and having beautiful muscles and showing women that it’s ok to have muscles and look beautiful at the same time.

Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear. I love cars (especially muscle cars) and know a good amount about them as I use to sell cars a few years ago before getting involved in the Higher Education industry. I also love Harleys as I grew up with them in my household. As most of you know about me as ItalianMuscle on myspace that meaning holds true as I am yes, Italian. I grew up in a TRUE Italian family where my grandfather came from Cicely from a little village named Criscione. When Italians leave their villages they are given the village name so my maiden last name is Criscione. I am also related (not blood but as in married) to the Capone family as one of them married my father’s cousin. Yikes huh LOL?

What are your competition goals or personal future goals? My goals are to one day get my Pro Card. I know it will take some time as I work full-time and don’t have the hours and time like most bodybuilders have. I will get there one day even if it takes a few years.

I will have a website coming up this February 2008.

Please note:

Erica does not do sessions or wrestling of any kind. Please don't ask!!
