Where and when were you born?
What is your profession?
I am an Advanced Personal Trainer and Sports Nutrition Consultant certified thru I.S.M.A. I also own my own mobile spa business beautipage.com/fitjen_beautispa and I’m on www.herbicepscam.com a couple times per week
Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training?
Yes, I was a gymnast from age 3 on...I also did cheerleading, track and volleyball all thru school...After I stopped the gymnastics, I need a new goal for myself so I started training for figure competitions
Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body?
With my first three competitions, I kept placing 3rd...It wasn’t until I spoke to the judges at a NPC competitions that I decided it was time to step up my game and try my hand at bodybuilding...With my wonder friends, Sharee and Howard, at my side I’ve done amazing
Can you give me your competition history?
2003 NABA Keystone Classics 3rd in light weight figure; 2003 NPC States 3rd in light weight figure; 2004 NPC Lehigh Valley 3rd in figure; 2008 NPC Bill Grant Classics 1st and overall heavy weight bodybuilding; 2008 NPC Mountain Valley 1st and overall medium class bodybuilding (upcoming: Eastern USA NYC Nov. 13th, 2009)
Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you?
My answer to both questions would have to be Mountain Valley...I received a bid to Nationals from that win
Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.)
Sharee and I train Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays, and Fridays together…We do legs on Wednesday separate…We train chest/abs, back/calves, legs/abs, shoulders/calves, and biceps and triceps…We don’t use a set program since we believe in muscle confusion and intuitive training…This way, we always keep our muscle guessing and changing…This type of training has done wonders for my muscle growth and change…Sharee really knows her s**t : )
What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much?
As painful as may be, I love DB one arm rows…My least favorite is DB flat fly
Which body part is your best in your opinion?
Definitely my legs…I have actually had to lay off them a little in order to let my upper body catch up to them…
If you don’t mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)?
I’ve done 110lb one are DB rows for 6 reps, I leg press 540 for 12 reps, Romanian dead lifts with 155lbs for 12 reps, 80lb DB incline chest press for 6 reps, strict side lateral raises with 30lb DB for 6 reps, calf press 340lbs 8 reps, pull ups with a 45lb plate hanging for 6 reps, plate loaded tricep press 180lbs for 8reps…My quads are 27in right now, chest/lat spread is 43in, bicep is 15.5in, calves are 16.5in
What do you enjoy about training for competition....what do you enjoy about the 'off season'?
I love watching all the changes to my body and I love people’s reaction to the changes when the go without seeing me for a while…In the off season, I do like being able to eat a bad thing here and there if I want
Please tell me about what you do when you don’t work out ( hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.)
When I’m not training, I’m busy raising my 8yr old son, running my skin care business, helping my personal training clients reach their fitness goals, and constantly learning…I do in-home spa treatments for people and whenever I smell the products, they tend to relax me as well…I use my detox line 3xs per week on myself to help relive my aches and pains and to flush out any impurities in my body…
What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle?
I love all the power and attention…Sometimes it’s not always good attention but if someone doesn’t like what they see then don’t look…Sharee and I are two of the biggest girls in our area so we do get a lot of comments from people…For the most part, people won’t mess with us
Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear.
I have too trusting of a heart…I have gotten my heart trampled on way too many times to count…I am such a giver and I always find the takers…Sharee is the first TRUE friend that I’ve ever had and she is a giver as well…I’m also actually pretty shy too…It took me forever to agree to do webcam…If fame comes my way, it will never go to my head…I will always know where I came from, who helped me get there, and that “your” fans make or break you…
What are your competition goals or personal future goals?
I am currently getting ready for Eastern USA in NY City on November 14…I plan to compete in Nationals in 2010
