Some Info about NICOLE:

Where and when were you born? Viking Alberta

What is your profession? Human Resource Co Coordinator / Chef

What kind of activities/sports did you do before you started lifting weights? Volleyball, Track, Baseball

How and when did you get involved into lifting weights? I became involved just to keep in shape in School. Once I met my Boyfriend and trainers Brain and Donna Logue It became more of a focus and the sport I live for today.

Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? No at first I did not believe anyone could convince me to go one stage and diet, What’s That?? I love my food to much. As time went one and I did decide to give the whole ”diet” thing a shot I fell in love with the sport.

What was your first competition and how did you place? My first competition was the 2001 Muscle Beach

And which contest has been the biggest success for you yet? I would have to say it is a tie between the 2003 and the 2004 Canadian Nationals. The 2003 because it was only my third competition and I was already doing a Canadian level after three of training and I placed first in ht middleweights. The 2004 Canadians came as a surprise because it was talked about as being one of the toughest groups of bodies to be judged and I also came out in first place.

Could you please add a history of all contests that you have entered so far? 2001 Muscle Beach – first lightweight, 2002 Alberta Provincials – first place middleweight, 2003 Canadian Nationals- first place middleweight and 2004 Canadian Nationals – first place middleweight.

Please describe a typical day in the life of Nicole Ball. Waking up at 6:00 and do some cardio and get on a nice cup of coffee. Then I start work at 8:00 am till 4:00pm. I carry on to my home and get in my mid day meal and prepare food for the following day. I hit the gym usually around 7:00pm for a hour and a half then eat my last meals and head off to bed. This is all routine unless I have a catering to do.

Please tell me something about your daily training routine. In the past I hit the gym five days a week training the major muscle groups my themselves and doubling up on the smaller muscles. This year though I am going to change and hit the gym six days a week and work each muscle group twice a week.

How often do you train in a week? Six days a week

What are the main differences when you train for a competition and in off-season? I really train no difference through out the year.

If you don’t mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)? Body measurements I do not know. My best lift is with bench press at 180lbs. ( only four reps)

Which body part is your best in your opinion? Definitely my legs

What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much? My favorite exercise would have to be legs and my least favorite is back.

Judging in Women’s Bodybuilding has always been criticised in one or the other way. Please tell me your honest thoughts about today’s judging in Women’s Bodybuilding. Honestly I do not let the criticised part of the sport affect me. Sure it is looked down upon more so then the men but like anything if you let it get to you or if you allow yourself to follow all the political side of any sport you will find yourself tied up to much in the negativity and not focussing on yourself to achieve your best potential.

Please tell me about what else you are doing when you don’t work out (profession, hobbies, etc.) I am starting my own Italian café here in November and I also run my own catering company. When I find time between all this I like to spend time with my dogs and just quading or relaxing in the country.

What are your future plans? I plan to train hard and go to the 2005 Canadian Nationals. I just got back from London, England where I presented awards for a bodybuilding show there. I will be going to Las Vegas in October for the Olympia and a photo shoot with FLEX Magazine. I will Then be going back to London England in October of 2005 and was asked to guest pose at one of the shows but that will depend on how I do at the 2005 Canadians.

Latest News:

Nicole Ball just made it bac from the World Olympia in Las Vegas. With a amazing line up of the best fifteen bodybuilders in the world Nicole went out there and performed a solid showing. Amazenly enough she was noticed at her first showing by the panel of twelve head judges even though she was outweighted on the stage by some of the other competitors by 40 lbs!!!! With a shape that could not be over looked but he judge and great condition Nicole ended up landing a impressive eight place finish which respectivly ranks her as eight in the World!!! With only sven shows in her career to date Nicoles success is lmost unheard of. So a huge congratulations to her.

With her dad and boyfriend with her they were on there way to the buggest show in the world for the sport of Bodybuilding. Once in Las Vegas she was brought to tears as hr mom and brother Wayne surprised her as they flew in for B.C. But it never ended there. Michele and Robin (sister and brother in law) also added to the flow of happiness. No matter what her placing would have been Nicole said she won the best placing just by having here family there with her and the rest of them there in her heart that could not have made it.

Please note:

Nicole does not do sessions or wrestling of any kind. Please don't ask!!
