What kind of activities/sports did you do before you started lifting weights? CHEERLEADING & GYMNASTICS (YOUNGER YEARS TRACK & FIELD, SOCCER, AND SOFTBALL)
How and when did you get involved into lifting weights? I STARTED LIFTING WEIGHTS JUNIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL WHEN I STARTED WORKING PART TIME AT GOLDS GYM (CHILD CARE) ORIGINALLY TO IMPROVE FOR CHEERLEADING.
Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? WHEN I STARTED TRAINING I HAD NO IDEA THERE WERE SUCH THING AS BB COMPETITIONS!! LOL. IN MAY 2007 I GOT AN ASSISTANT MANAGER JOB AT VITAMIN SHOPPE WHERE I MET SOME AWESOME CUSTOMERS... ONE IN PARTICULAR, BILL YOUNG (WHO IS NOW MY BOYFRIEND) TOLD ME ABOUT THE LOCAL SHOW THAT WAS ABOUT 5 MONTHS AWAY. HIM AND HIS SONS WERE SHOPPING TOGETHER ALL PREPARING TO ENTER THE SHOW, THEY CAME BACK IN THE STORE LATER THAT NIGHT WITH EZEKIEL CEREAL AND BREAD FOR ME. MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS "WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?"... AND THAT WAS WHERE IT ALL BEGAN...
What was your first competition and how did you place? OCTOBER 2007 INBF NYS CHAMPIONSHIPS IN POUGHKEEPSIE NY I PLACED 2ND IN FIGURE!
And which contest has been the biggest success for you yet? WINNING MY FIRST BB SHOW 3/19/2011 !

Please describe a typical day in the life of Rene:
BODYBUILDING REALLY IS MY LIFE, MY DAY REVOLVES AROUND WORK, TRAINING, FOOD, AND SLEEP. THANK GOODNESS MY BOYFRIEND IS ALSO A BODYBUILDER BECAUSE A LOT OF OUR TIME SPENT TOGETHER IS WORKING OUT, COOKING, EATING, AND OCCASIONAL NIGHTS OUT. I LOVE WHAT I DO, I ONLY WISH THERE WERE MORE HOURS IN A DAY SOMETIMES! ;)
Please tell me something about your daily training routine:
I PREFER TO FOLLOW THIS SPLIT; CHEST/TRICEPS/CALVES, LEGS/ABS, SHOULDERS/CALVES, BACK/BICEPS/ABS. HONESTLY THE BIGGEST THING I'VE LEARNED OVER THE YEARS IS TO FIND A ROUTINE THAT WORKS AND KEEP IT! I FOLLOW THE SAME PLAN OFF-SEASON AND PRE-CONTEST WITH ONLY SMALL CHANGES LIKE REST DAYS, CARDIO, DROP SETS, AND ADDING SOME HOLDING LEG EXTENSIONS TO BRING OUT MY QUADS AS I APPROACH SHOWTIME.
What are the main differences when you train for a competition and in off-season? LOL I ANSWERED ABOVE BEFORE READING THIS... BUT I'LL JUST SAY THIS "ALWAYS TRAIN FOR A CONTEST, DIET FOR A SHOW!"

CONTEST SEASON: 5'2'' 134 LBS BICEPS 14'', CALVES 15'', WAIST 25'', HIPS 37'', QUADS 23.5, FOREARMS 11''
Which bodypart is your best in your opinion? BACK & DELTS- I'VE MADE IMPROVEMENTS TO REAR DELTS AND REALLY THINK THAT MAKES ME STAND OUT IN A LINE UP.
What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much? HAMMER STRENGTH DELT PRESS IS MY FAVORITE!
Least favorite: GLUTE KICKBACKS (LOL)
Please tell me about what else you are doing when you don’t work out.
WHEN IM NOT WORKING OUT... IM THINKING ABOUT WORKING OUT! LOL!! HONESTLY, I'M CHECKING IN WITH CLIENTS, WRITING MEAL PLANS, EXPERIMENTING WITH NEW RECIPES OFTEN... I NEVER LIKED COOKING TILL I STARTED "SPICING THINGS UP"..NOW I HAVE A HARD TIME LEAVING THE KITCHEN!!! TRAVELING FOR PHOTO SHOOTS AND WATCHING COMPETITIONS IS LIKE VACATION TO ME- CANT GET ENOUGH OF THAT!! BESIDES BODYBUILDING, I ENJOY RELAXING WITH FRIENDS AND VISITING FAMILY...
