Where and when were you born?
On September 28 1978 in the most beautiful place in this world.. In Switzerland..
In 1997 I moved to the US, (Maryland) on a agriculture exchange program and stayed ever since. I just got my American citizenship this past December. Witch I am very proud of!!!
What is your profession?
Currently still working as a landscaper but hopefully starting Police Academy in June.
Where you involved in sports or fitness prior bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training?
During school time I was always the “slow” one. I liked sports but was not very good at it and that’s why, I never got picked in the first round.
As I moved to the US all I had was my pair of rollerblades and that was my only transportation for the first 2 years. Grocery shopping with the backpack!!!
With a friend of mine I took a kickboxing class and that’s when I stepped into a gym my very first time. I got curious and started with some weight training. After a few months I met my, (current) boyfriend at the gym and we started to work out together. Through his knowledge and his experience I came a long way.
Can you give me your competition history?
Never had the guts (yet) to get up on stage…
Please tell me something about your training routine.
For cardio I teach spin class 3 times a week , run twice a week. Unfortunately all in the afternoon or I would have to get up at 4am ( no thanks) !!!
I work out on a 4 split.
Back and biceps
Chest and triceps
Shoulders and abs and all the “other” stuff I neglect during the week…
What is your favourite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much?
My absolute favorite is back., followed by biceps and triceps.
Legs, that’s a different story.. Although I am starting to see great improvement and that makes it worthwhile..
My stats …
Lat pulldown: 130 , 3sets of 10
Benchpress: 135, 3 sets of 10
Dumbbell curls: 45, 3sets of 8-10
Squat: 225, 3sets of 8
What do you do when you don’t work out?
I eat and sleep ..Ha ha ha …
If I ever get enough time I enjoy reading my swiss newspaper I get delivered from Switzerland once a week. Also love to cook and I am very creative in the kitchen. Helps to prepare meals when I m on diet…
I relax with some great blues and a good glass of wine. The small things in life can get you a long way…
What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle?
I learned to get to know my body more then I ever imagined. For me bodybuilding is a lifestyle.I treat my body good to get the best out of it .
Socially, people stare and make comments, or you get acknowledged for what you do. It feels great to get a compliment for something you work so hard for it , CONTINUOSLY!!!
I love to be able to help people as far as I can with tips for their diets or workouts. It definately boosted my ego quite a bit.
Tell me something interesting about yourself..
Well, I moved from Switzerland to the US as I was just 18 years old. Could not speak a word of English and did not know anybody.
I established a life from scratch and I think, I can say I am proud of what I achieved. Just got my citizenship and that is a huge deal.
What are your competition goals or personal goals?
I hope I will get my curage up to compete. Im sure once I have started I would love it...
Personal goals: Currently studying for my personal trainer licence.
Finally things are moving along in the hiring process of becoming a police officer…
If you re dumb, you gotta be tough!!!
Stefanie does not do sessions or wrestling of any kind. Please don't ask!!
