Translator and hopefully BB in near future, haha

Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training?
yes, swimming and kendo(martial art; bamboo stick fencing), I started my weight training because I thought I was fat at 54 kg and wanted to be tight, seriously.

Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? Yes, started to get fit then was hypnotized into lifting heavier and heavier saw my physique changing and became addicted to it.

Can you give me your competition history?
competed in power lifting and bench pressing in us military base, then
competed in BB 2002 to 2004 in all japan basis, got japan title in 2002 for the first time competition that made me deeply in for it.

Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you?
Kansai regional competition, It was the most memorable one in my life.

Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.)
5 to 6 days a week, it is changing time to time, approx each 6 months, will do
chest/bis, shoulder, legs, back/tris, abs/calves....from now on, will do cardio for 20minuts
after weights............but I hate cardio..............

What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don't like so much?
I like chest exercise, I hate back exercise.

Which body part is your best in your opinion?
back, arms,

If you don't mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)?
arm; 15.5inches to 16 in at my biggest, best lift in bench press; 92kg, squat; 250kg (on hack squat machine)

What do you enjoy about training for competition....what do you enjoy about the 'off season'?
on the day of competition/ guestposing, the best part of it is getting protan and dream tan or oil on your skin you look so different!! Off season, I enjoy delicious food. haha

Please describe a typical day in the life of Tomoko Kanda.
get up around 8 am and cook food for the rest of the day, I do translation work then go to gym, lately have stated doing web cam.

Please tell me about what you do when you don't work out (hobbies, what do you do to relax, etc.)
I like to take a long bath, put spa powder in the tab and enjoy the atmosphere.
Like to read BB magazine, books on nutrition and health, listen to music, going to movies, and traveling to abroad.

What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle?
difference of on and off season food, meeting people who have same life style.

Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear.
My educational back ground as MBA holder, maybe that can make people surprised......??

What are your competition goals or personal future goals?
My goal is to spread positive aspects of Bodybuilding to Japanese society and weight training
for the health benefits of women in Japan.
Most of ladies are afraid of getting huge muscular in japan,
they need the knowledge of how to weight train, and open up a very conservative society
to allow the women to be strong too.
