Where and when were you born? St. Bruno, Quebec. Born June 9 1978 What is your profession? Nursing- owner of an assisted living home for seniors just opened in my home town. Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding/figure and how did you get started with weight training? I was into horseback riding and cheerleading in high school. Becoming a mother started weight training. Was it a goal for you to compete in figure competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? I thought it wasn't possible just dreams, then i saw results while in the gym and dreams came true. Can you give me your competition history? Sandra Wickham November 6,04 first place in figure med, overall in figure and 2end in fitness model search BC provincial in August of 05 and first in figure medium Canadian National July 1st and first in figure short Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you? They were all special for one reason or another but the Nationals landed on our 7th year anniversary and my fiance/trainer told me from the begining think positive and good things will happen rise to the top in three years was our goal together and I competed 3 time and 3 times i came 1st. Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.) I train one body part a day. I train 7 days a week. What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much? I love training legs and back and my least favourite is chest as i don't train it hard. Which body part is your best in your opinion? My abs are my best body part. If you don’t mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)? Shoulder press at 70lbs. 3 sets of 10. What do you enjoy about training for competition....what do you enjoy about the 'off season'? I love everything about dieting the trimming down and getting ready to compete off season- i like to have more variety in my diet but otherwise not too much different in my life from in season and off season. Please describe a typical day in the life of Bonnie McKechnie. I wake up organize my food( cook,weigh it put them in tupperware),eat breakfast, go train, hang out with my son, go to work and then bed time. Please tell me about what you do when you don’t work out ( hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.) I have recently picked up gardening and i find it is very relaxing. I also like hanging out with my family and my two dogs (great dane and bullmastiff/boxer). What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle? Looking different compared to other normal people. Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear. I broke my arm arm wrestling in Florida against a guy and I was winning till the end I threw my body instead of getting over my body to finish it and I spiral fracture my humerous body in half so I have a titanium plate and seven screws. What are your competition goals or personal future goals? I want to compete and turn pro so I can compete in the states. Bonnie does not do sessions or wrestling of any kind. Please don't ask!! |
