Where and when were you born? August 13th, 1967 (a young 38 :) In Perth, Western Australia What is your profession? Personal Trainer Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training? Completed up to Olympic Level in gymnastics. Played for a top field hockey team until I was about 14. Had a great time being involved with the Australian Swimsuit Calender in 1994. (I was Miss July). By then I was ready to do my first Bodybuilding show. I have competed in numerous IFBB-NPC Bodybuilding Shows back home in Australia. I started out as a gymnast, and after taking a few years off between the age of 15 - 21 I decided to join a gym to get back into some training. I noticed how some of the women looked back then in the Muscle and Fitness, FLEX and Muscle Builder Magazines, so when I went to the gym to join I met up with Sue Martin ( Miss Australia in the late 80's ) who told me I have great genetics for bodybuilding. So, with encouragement from her and lots of motivation....an addiction was born!!!! Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you? I have competed in numerous IFBB-NPC Bodybuilding Shows back home in Australia, but the best experience was the Australian Nationals where I placed second as a lightweight. I won my state shows and local shows that same year. What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much? I really enjoy training my chest. ( How macho eh??) Altho, since I have been working out with my hubby all these years, I seem to be enjoying all my training. He is an inspiration. If I had to choose a least favourite one, then it is definately CARDIO. [indoors on a treadmill or similar - I much prefer and love to get outdoors and hit the pavement] Which body part is your best in your opinion? I have been told many many times it is my biceps (altho I am often complimented on my infectious smile) Please tell me about yourself and what you do when you don’t work out ( hobbies, what do you do to relax?.) Well - I am a happy, easy going, fun loving, and very down to earth person (I tell it how it is)..I like to think I am reliable and extremely dedicated and loyal to those I admire and love. I love to be outdoors in the sunshine and hang out with close friends and family . I am a huge animal lover and have a cat, 4 birds and just recently a dog. What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle? Well, it is most definitely a lifetime interest! I still want to be able to scratch my back and tie my shoes when I am 100! :) it helps to keep me healthy and happy and makes me feel sexy. Please note: Gina does not not do sessions or wrestling of any kind. Please don't ask!! |
