Some Info about MARGARET:

Where and when were you born?
I was born in Boulder, CO - yes I have a green card from the Peoples Republic of Boulder (that might be a Colorado joke that no one else will understand.

What is your profession?
I have been very competitive all my life. At one point I was on a Fast Pitch softball team in Boulder and we came in second out of 300 teams between Boulder and Denver. After that I got bored, tried volleyball but am a little on the short side. One of my friends handed me a muscle magazine and told me that I should try that. It is history now.

Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training?
I took one look at that magazine and decided that I could do that and I wanted to look like that - as being too short to look like Kate Moss.

Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you?
I think my best competition was the 2003 Rocky Mtn. Championship - I was first heavyweight and overall and was best poser. Now I think that I looked the best at the 2005 USA's and when someone told me that I was too hard - I believe I have just made it to bodybuilding status. And then having my picture taken with Ms. Lenda Murray and having a photographer ask for a photo shoot, it is unbelievable.

Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.)
My training routine?
On season - Monday Chest-some shoulders- some triceps - 2 hours cardio (tread and bike)
Tuesday Back - some shoulders - some biceps - 2 hours cardio
Wednesday - Legs- 2 hours cardio
Thursday - Shoulders, traps, forearms - 2 hours cardio
Friday - Biceps/Triceps - 2 hours cardio
Saturday - Legs - 2 hours cardio
Sunday - 2 hours cardio

What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much?
I love to hate legs - at one point I got 800 lbs. on the leg press for a few reps - I was so proud. I hate cardio - nothing makes that one better.

Which body part is your best in your opinion?
I believe that my back is my best body part - thickness and definition - then maybe the abs? maybe someone else should tell me

If you don’t mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)?
I don't do alot of power movements - but I can Incline bench 100# dumbbells - decline 80# dumbbells - just average I think

What do you enjoy about training for competition....what do you enjoy about the 'off season'?
I now enjoy training for competition because I absolutely love the look and would love to be a solid heavyweight at 5'1"(if I stretch)maybe 150lbs on stage!!! I enjoy off season because I love food - all of it and just about anything.

Please describe a typical day in the life of Margaret Taylor.
On season I get to the gym at 6 am do 1 hour cardio - at 7 work out for 1 hour - start with my clients - trying to eat in between all this - sometimes around 1 in afternoon I get my other hour of cardio in - then after finish with clients at 7 pm - try to get some posing in. Then go home and eat and try to sleep and then do it again.

Please tell me about what you do when you don’t work out (hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.)
What do I do to relax - hmmm - Mountain hiking, road cycling, Fly fishing, camping, cut firewood, haul sandstone rocks small boulders for my patio- you know the usual - play with the dogs (Rizzo and Mickhail).

What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle?
I think I enjoy the strength that bodybuilding gives you in all aspects of your life and I love looking great (at least in my mind, eh?) can you say powerlifting :))

Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear.
Tell you something that no one would know about me? Let's see - I make the best raspberry chocolate truffle covered cherries you have ever had- do you want me to send you some? Maybe for Christmas? Loveeeeeeeeessssssss to bake.

What are your competition goals or personal future goals?
I was going to try to go to Pittsburgh in July for another competition - but with money for everyone being tight - I don't know that I will be able to make it - therefore I will probably have to requalify somewhere in the next year for a national show.

Please note:

Margaret does not do sessions or wrestling of any kind. Please don't ask!
