Where and when were you born? I was born September 19, Sydney Australia What is your profession? Flight Attendant / Personal Trainer / Television presenter / Fitness – Cover Model. Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to fitness and how did you get started with weight training? I have always gone to the gym and been fit and healthy however, it wasn’t until April 2003 after I had had both of my children that I began training seriously with weights. I competed that same year in October and won a National Title. I have not looked back since. Was it a goal for you to compete in fitness competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? I have always been quite competitive. Previously to Figure I competed Nationally in Fitness so I guess it’s always been a part of me. Can you give me your competition history? I’m a huge fan of photo shoots around contest time too! Please describe a typical day in the life of Rosa-Maria Romero. My days are super hectic. I’ve always got 101 things to do. Raising two children on my own, training, writing, presenting, modelling, personal training and flying the skies….it’s a never ending story but I’m not complaining. I love it. Please tell me about what you do when you don’t work out ( hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.) When I am not training I enjoy spending time with the kids ie beach, movies, shopping, skating, bike riding. I also look forward to spending quality time with my boyfriend (Luke Schembri) who also competes for the IFBB in the U90’s. Luke is also working towards obtaining his Pro Card so we support eachother 100%. What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle? The buzz, energy and freedom to be who you want to be. I get a lot of satisfaction out of training. I would be lost without it. I began dancing at the age of three. What are your competition goals or personal future goals? I am now preparing for my first World Championship in Santa Susana Spain – September 2006.
