Where and when were you born? Guam, May 19, 1965 What is your profession? Life Coach / Personal Trainer Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training? No, never involved in any sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding. I started bodybuilding after being told by a certain specialist that I could never participate in any sports or strenuous activities. Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? Yes, it was my goal to compete from the onset of my career. Can you give me your competition history? Ms. Vancouver 1987 Lightweight / Overall Winner Ms. British Columbia 1987 Lightweight / Overall Winner Ms. Western Canada 1989 Lightweight Winner Ms. Canada 1991 Lightweight Winner IFBB Pro Division Since 1991 Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you? That would have to be the Ms. Vancouver 1987, where they tried to ban me because of my skimpy bathing suit which they approved the night before the show at the weigh-in. After the pre-judging they told me I couldn't go onstage with that same bathing suit so I told them "fine, I'll compete in the States"...suffice to say it was rather dramatic to say the least. Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.) 3 days on, 4 off...no cardio since 1993 What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much? Lying leg curls is my favorite. I don't care to train biceps anymore. Which body part is your best in your opinion? Calves? For the competition: The mental preparation, visualization and the anxiety that comes with wanting to do my personal best. For the 'off season': Spending time with my number one fan... Please describe a typical day in the life of Latia Del Riviero. Work, eat, work, eat, work, eat, work!!! Hardly any sleep! Please tell me about what you do when you don’t work out (hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.) I'll leave that up to the imagination...but I do enjoy bleaching my counters alot! What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle? The dicipline and resiliancy it takes to keep going. Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear. I'm an introvert and very shy. I live a private lifestyle. What are your competition goals or personal future goals? I'd like to do a comeback once I hit my designated weight...say no less than 145 lbs, shredded and freaky! Please note: Latitia does not do sessions or wrestling of any kind. Please don't ask!! |
