Hmm… actually I like them all with the exception of abs. Hate abs but gotta do em. At this time I've been having fun training chest with my "coach", Dianne Solomons. I try to hang with her which I think she finds quite amusing…well…I try anyway. Least favorite workout: Abs….hate em. No genetic gift here, that's for sure! I train them twice weekly, one time in a 30 minute killer abs class at my gym and one time on my own. Background Info: I was born and raised in Southern California, third generation of Japanese ancestry. My father was a flower grower and much time was spent as a child working outside in the fields. Mom stressed academics and the arts which in turn resulted in a career in physical therapy (pediatrics) and involvement in performances/competitions in classical music. I still love music but my forte has always been in athletics. Swam competitively for 13 years and later, competed in triathlons for 2-3 years. Wanting to improve my times for the triathlons, I decided to take some sculpting classes at my gym to gain more strength. It was during this time that the instructor/body builder (Dianne Solomons) asked if I was getting ready for a "show". I replied no, I'm a triathlete and that I "aint gonna walk on stage in less than my underwear!" Dianne then suggested I attend a local body building show and see what I thought. Well, to make a long story short, began training, got hooked on the body building lifestyle, and yes, got on that stage in less (much less) than my underwear! My future goals in body building? To continue to learn more about the body and how it can be changed through proper nutrition, consistent exercise, and rest and to continue to do shows and improve my performances on stage. Also may attempt to take another shot at placing higher at Team Universe. Other hobbies/interests: Hiking, biking, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, cooking and sharing it with others, reading, exploring new places and learning new things. |
