Where and when were you born? Born and raised in Saranac Lake NY What is your profession? I have been a hairdresser for 21 years and owned my own salon for 14. Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training? I was a runner, doing 5 and 10k and 1/2 marathons. Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? Once I saw my body progress, I thought, why not? I was turning 30 that year..I needed to destract myself anyway! Can you give me your competition history? I started competing in 01 in natural organizations. In 06 I decided to go to the NPC and qualified for nationals in Syracuse NY. I went on to jr nationals that year, placing 3rd. In 07 I won overall at jr usas and took 3rd at nationals the same year. IN 07 i placed 2nd at nationals, lost in a tie breaker! This year i did north americans, taking open and masters LW and winning my pro card. Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you? North americans of course! I got in my best shape ever...and proved you dont have to be a big girl to come out on top. What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much? I love training shoulders...I really like all weight training exercises, ist cardio I dont like so much! Which body part is your best in your opinion? Calves..my gift from God! If you don’t mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)? Not really sure on best lifts...i bench 175 for 5. i never do a 1 RPM so i dont have any idea. my arms measure 14 inches...thats all i know~! What do you enjoy about training for competition....what do you enjoy about the 'off season'? Ilove the regime of on season, the structure, plus I love taking off the wrapping adn seeing my hard work! Off season...not much! I always feel lost, though my trainer is keeping me pretty regimented this year. Please describe a typical day in the life of Tammy Patnode. Since I have a kick ass home gym, I roll out of bed, eat and head to the basement to train before work. it seems my life is pretty much training, cooking and working. Please tell me about what you do when you don’t work out ( hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.). Spending time with friends, hiking with my dogs. Im a homebody...just being cozy and watching movies. I am a moderator at RXmuscle, so that keeps me pretty busy as well. What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle? The friends I have made. knowing I am in control of what my body looks like. Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear. I have NO patience! What are your competition goals or personal future goals? I make my pro debut and look like I belong there. Tammy does not do sessions or wrestling of any kind. Please don't ask!! |
